Job Title: Aboriginal Life Skills Coach

The Hamilton Regional Indian Centre is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the urban Aboriginal population of the Greater Hamilton area. We are seeking a skilled Life Skills Coach to join our team and provide programming to enhance life skills that foster independence and confidence, increased health and well-being, and a sense of belonging to clients experiencing challenges maintaining their housing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide life skills coaching to clients in various settings to enhance their independence and confidence.
  • Develop and implement programming to promote healthy living, financial literacy, and cultural awareness.
  • Collaborate with community service providers to ensure a comprehensive approach to client support.
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized plans to address client needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
  • College diploma in Social Services or a related field.
  • Experience working in an Indigenous organization is an asset.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the homelessness serving system.
  • Strong understanding and appreciation of Indigenous culture and traditions.
  • Valid driver's license with a clear driving record and access to reliable transportation.
