Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Coordinator, VDC Services to join our team at EllisDon. As a key member of our VDC team, you will play a critical role in supporting our leadership in strategic planning initiatives, including resource allocation, technology adoption, and process improvement across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with VDC leadership to develop and implement strategic plans, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation to support project decision-making, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Work closely with leadership to identify training needs and develop programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of the VDC/BIM team and other project stakeholders.
  • Assist in special projects as directed by management, including research and implementation of new VDC technologies or methodologies, as well as continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support management in budgeting and cost management efforts related to VDC tools, software licenses, and training programs.

On-Site Coordination

  • Attend on-site meetings and walk-throughs to ensure the implementation of VDC/BIM practices align with project conditions and timelines.
  • Coordinate with site teams to resolve real-time issues related to model-based workflows and ensure that any on-site changes are captured and reflected in project models.

Additional Duties

  • Provide training and mentorship to project teams on new software and workflows, ensuring a smooth transition to new technologies.
  • Participate in client and stakeholder meetings as needed, representing the VDC/BIM team and addressing any model-based concerns or queries.
  • Be prepared to take on additional tasks as requested by management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support the team in various capacities as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate from a Project Management program or have accreditation in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction.
  • 3+ years of Project Coordinator experience, with experience in a technological consultancy considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a construction environment as a Project Coordinator, VDC/BIM Coordinator, or Architectural/Engineering Technologist.
  • Strong understanding of how digital models translate into physical construction, with experience working directly on construction sites a plus.
  • Stay updated with the latest VDC/BIM technologies and best practices, providing recommendations to leadership on software upgrades or new tools to enhance project efficiency.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills, with ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with ability to find creative solutions to challenges.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
