Summary/Job Scope:

This role is pivotal in the development and execution of carbon capture initiatives at our cement facilities. You will be responsible for identifying various carbon capture technologies, considering site-specific synergies and constraints, and evaluating processes for CO2 utilization and storage.

As a technical and project management leader, you will ensure the delivery of projects that are technically sound, economically viable, and balanced in risk through your expertise in process engineering, project management, organizational skills, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess various carbon capture technologies and suppliers for implementation at our cement facilities, taking into account specific plant and technology conditions.
  • Explore CO2 utilization and storage options for diverse projects, ranging from pilot initiatives to large-scale implementations.
  • Engage in technical discussions with potential partners interested in CO2 projects, including utilization, storage, and transportation.
  • Monitor the evolving commercial landscape of carbon capture, utilization, and storage, maintaining awareness of cutting-edge technologies and solutions.
  • Develop detailed project plans that encompass technical concepts, scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to manage the commercial and contractual aspects of projects, including RFPs, negotiations, and performance guarantees.
  • Oversee internal and external resources to ensure project development aligns with established plans.
  • Ensure timely and budget-compliant completion of carbon capture projects.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies, maintaining a safe work environment and striving for zero workplace injuries.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent project management credential.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale projects in heavy industry or oil and gas, integrating multiple stakeholders and completing full project lifecycles.
  • Proficient in engineering practices, project management, and planning methodologies.
  • Familiarity with industrial processes, engineering standards, and equipment utilized in carbon capture systems.
  • Extensive experience in industrial project management, including costing, project control, and contract management for projects exceeding $250M.
  • Expertise in preparing, managing, executing, monitoring, and reporting on comprehensive scopes of work, including technical, financial, commercial, legal, and environmental aspects.
  • Experience managing project teams across various engineering disciplines and engaging with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (30-40%), including crossing borders and overnight stays.
