Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement vendor performance management initiatives to drive value for TD Insurance customers, employees, and shareholders.
  • Collaborate with strategic sourcing and claims operational leadership to ensure compliance with TD risk and expense policies and procedures.
  • Lead a team of Regional Vendor Management professionals to manage third-party business arrangements with our general contracting network and reinspection personnel.
  • Grow team expertise to align with business/enterprise demand and direction, assessing team skills and capabilities to continually improve value delivery.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and performance reviews, coaching, and developing employees to ensure performance management activities are undertaken and completed for all team members.
  • Share knowledge, information, skills, and subject matter expertise among the team, ensuring timely communication of issues and fostering good working relationships with other functions and teams.
  • Ensure all customer needs are considered during sourcing activities, obtaining sign-off from key stakeholders when major decisions are made or contracts are awarded.
  • Build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with key vendors for TD Insurance.
  • Ensure the prompt and thorough resolution of all customer issues, recommending improvements that arise from monitoring and tracking customer issues.
  • Act as the primary interface with the business, leading, influencing, or intervening in vendor negotiations on behalf of internal clients when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of assigned business units, their objectives, and upcoming projects to communicate better options and alternatives.
  • Develop project/program plans and/or quality assurance measures where applicable, managing all activities related to respective functions.
  • Manage processes associated with the implementation of newly sourced vendors and/or quality assurance/corporate program initiatives.
  • Manage key relationships, internal stakeholders, and/or external suppliers to enhance support to end customers and identify process improvement opportunities where appropriate.
  • Support management requests for reporting based on various performance measures/data unique to the sourcing environment.
  • Develop vendor performance scorecard reports, monitoring adherence to established standards and processes, and conducting performance reviews with suppliers as required.
  • Network with industry peers and internal end users to keep abreast of industry trends, benchmarking, and comparing practices to ensure corporate programs remain effective and current.
  • Oversee the measurement of customer service levels within the vendor program.
  • Share/Provide industry and/or department expertise with internal and external business partners.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in vendor management, project management, risk management, general contracting, and/or claims handling, with proven people leadership and management experience
  • Ability to think strategically, a forward thinker who sees opportunities not problems, will challenge the status quo, and continually look for a better way to execute with excellence
  • Demonstrated leadership and management ability is vital, the ability to persuade by printed and spoken word is critical
  • A proven collaborative approach to problem-solving, decision-making, and communication
  • Effective communications skills, including facilitation, consultation, negotiation, persuasion, and presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, counsel, and train staff at a senior managerial level
  • Strong team player, works well under pressure, and ability to deal effectively with change
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Occasional travel will be required
