Job Summary:

As a Senior Director of Operations at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), you will be responsible for leading the vision, direction, and leadership of the Division, ensuring alignment with the organization's values and goals. This role requires a strong understanding of corporate responsibility, leadership, and management principles.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the annual business plan and divisional goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with the organization's vision and values.
  • Provide leadership and direction in the management and delivery of programs and services, ensuring required programs and policies are established, and service levels are maintained.
  • Participate in the planning of the financial, physical, and human assets of the Division, including the annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Ensure effective organization, resourcing, and management of human resources within the reporting line.
  • Build and maintain active interaction and dialogue with other WSIB leaders and employees to assess and discuss business and organizational issues.
  • Act as a senior expert providing functional leadership and technical expertise to Vice Presidents and Directors on matters relating to professional areas of expertise.
  • Participate in the review, planning, development, and implementation of Board-wide initiatives, strategies, and programs.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with external contractors or business partners, such as other workers' compensation boards, government agencies, stakeholders, and industry groups.
Job Requirements:
  • Undergraduate university degree and significant experience in developing and delivering programs.
  • 10+ years of progressively more responsible leadership and management positions in a large complex organization dealing with insurance and/or disability management and/or public sector management and services.
