The Opportunity

We are seeking a Manager, Student and Alumni Experience and Engagement to support the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Studies, Faculty of Arts. The successful candidate will create and implement strategies for programs, initiatives, and activities related to undergraduate student engagement and enrichment, and alumni engagement. The Manager will oversee and guide the Society of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (SASSH) and student groups to enhance the quality of student life, improve the branding of the Faculty, and ensure they remain on track in their long-term goals and commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies for undergraduate student engagement and enrichment, and alumni engagement
  • Oversee and guide the Society of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (SASSH) and student groups
  • Generate relevant services for students and events
  • Develop strong partnerships with other offices in the University to implement and execute short- and long-term faculty-wide student strategic engagement programming
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of FoA-focused recruitment strategies and initiatives
  • Raise alumni's awareness of the FoA's programming and alumni engagement initiatives
  • Represent the FoA across campus on committees, special projects, and organize events as required
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree in the Humanities or Social Sciences, and/or related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience and evidence of superior management skills in the field of student life, professional development, relationship building/management, event planning, presenting, and supervising others
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working within an Arts Student Society
  • Experience with Roberts Rules of Order
  • Superior people skills to be able to manage key relationships and personnel, and to mentor undergraduate student and staff
  • Interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to network with industry executives to make and maintain connections for Arts students both within the University community and the broader community and Arts world
  • Financial management skills to be able to plan and implement services, programs, policies and procedures, and to be able to manage multiple priorities, as well as complex problems and issues
