About the Role

Kerry's Place Autism Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our support team, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Responsibilities
  • Provide coaching and support in social skills, communication, and leisure activities to individuals with ASD.
  • Identify and address barriers impacting the achievement of quality of life, ensuring Personal Outcomes are met for each individual.
  • Administer medication as per procedure and follow Behavioral and Crisis Protocols as documented.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with families, supports, and community members.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Human Services Diploma from a recognized Community College or University, or a Personal Support Worker certificate from a Community College or a registered and Ministry-approved Private Career College.
  • 1 year of related experience, preferably supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to physically support adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and complete the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification.
  • Valid Driver's License, with a minimum G2, and access to a reliable vehicle.
