Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Human Resources to join our team at Douglas College. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to our HR function, ensuring that we maintain a positive and productive work environment that supports the success of our employees and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the College's goals and objectives
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to senior leaders on HR-related matters, including employee and labor relations, recruitment, and talent management
  • Oversee the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs
  • Lead and manage a team of HR professionals, providing coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities to ensure their success
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless and effective HR service delivery
  • Stay up-to-date with changing legislation, regulations, and best practices in HR, and ensure that the College is compliant with all relevant laws and regulations
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in HR, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of success in HR leadership, including experience in employee and labor relations, recruitment, and talent management
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
