About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Kitchen Helper at Swiss Chalet Rotisserie & Grill. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food preparation and service areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units to maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
  • Dishwashing: Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware, and place them in storage areas.
  • Hand Washing and Sanitizing: Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand, and scour pots and pans to ensure they are clean and free of food residue.
  • Kitchen Cleaning: Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment, to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Supply Handling: Handle and store cleaning products, receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
  • Garbage and Trash Removal: Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and ensure that the kitchen is kept clean and free of clutter.
  • Knife Sharpening: Sharpen kitchen knives to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Floor Maintenance: Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Food Preparation: Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit to prepare them for cooking.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Repetitive Tasks: Perform repetitive tasks, such as cleaning and sanitizing, to maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
  • Standing for Extended Periods: Stand for extended periods, including during peak periods, to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.
  • Work Under Pressure: Work under pressure to meet deadlines and ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
