As a key player in ecological transformation, you will report to the Vice-President of Business Development, Heavy Industries. The Sales Development Specialist is tasked with expanding our industrial business, which will ultimately lead to increased sales revenues. This will involve close collaboration with consulting engineers, contractors, and end-users, focusing on capital equipment and related services in the Mining Sector and other heavy industry applications across Western Canada. You will engage with various project delivery models offered by VWT Canada, including Design Build options.
- Proactively promote VWT Canada’s technical solutions and services to key clients through presentations, trade shows, and other market channels;
- Assist in crafting preliminary and firm proposals for specific projects to facilitate the sale of VWS Canada Solutions;
- Actively follow up on bids to maximize conversion potential;
- Lead business development initiatives within the team. Manage sales functions by updating leads in the sales database, forecasting, and tracking key projects and accounts;
- Set a high standard for all communications sent to clients to ensure the correct message is conveyed;
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with all levels within a client’s organization and other VWTS business units as necessary;
- Stay informed about industry trends and technical advancements, reporting back to management;
- Understand the complete Veolia offering to identify and promote inter-divisional sales opportunities;
- Work independently with minimal supervision in a manufacturing-oriented environment;
- Participate in defining sales strategies to achieve growth objectives.
- A seasoned professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial capital sales;
- Experience and thorough understanding of a project-based selling environment;
- Native English speaker; bilingual in French and English is a plus;
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation;
- Willingness to travel 40% of the time;
- Proven ability to influence clients, close deals, and negotiate terms;
- Ability to analyze and develop new markets to promote our technical solutions and services;
- Strong knowledge of water and wastewater industrial sectors with a solid understanding of water chemistry;
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and present concepts to clients;
- Comfortable making presentations and delivering industry-related papers to diverse audiences;
- Proficient with the Google suite.
