About the Job

UNIFOR CONSTRUCTION INC. is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare layouts and designs in accordance with building codes and regulations, using measuring tools and equipment.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials to create structures, such as buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure.
  • Install and fit windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites, ensuring timely completion of projects and minimal disruptions.
  • Survey building locations and levels to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Train and supervise apprentices and other workers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Estimate costs and materials to ensure projects are completed within budget and on time.
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems to design and plan projects.
  • Maintain and repair existing structures, including residences, wooden structures, and other buildings.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in carpentry or a related field.
Work Environment

This is a permanent position with a 35-hour workweek. The work language is English.
