Role Summary

A position for a Project Manager (Research Associate) is available within the Princess Margaret Genomics Centre, a state-of-the-art research facility. The successful candidate will oversee various projects, particularly those associated with the Brain Canada platform grant operations, under the guidance of the Principal Investigators.

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing collaborative research projects, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders, and engaging in community outreach and training initiatives. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency in project management tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate collaborative agreements and service contracts.
  • Prepare and submit scientific progress reports.
  • Manage project budgets effectively.
  • Ensure project milestones are achieved in alignment with grant-funded activities.
  • Engage with the community through various communication channels.
  • Potentially involve laboratory work for qualified candidates.

Required Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in cancer genetics, molecular biology, genetic counseling, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant research experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Project management certification (PMP) is highly desirable.
  • Experience in developing scientific communication and marketing materials is advantageous.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and online project management tools.
