Our client is a renowned company in Canada, specializing in the distribution of electrical, electronic data, wire cable accessories, and telecom products. They are seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead their London operations.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage the London operations, supporting the company's Telecom Ontario, Utility Ontario, and South-Western Ontario Commercial & Industrial businesses.
- Oversee the London Branch's Profit and Loss (P&L) for all three business units it supports.
- Lead a team of Operations employees, Administrative employees, and Sales employees.
- Directly manage a team of three, including the London Warehouse Manager, Administrative Manager, and S-W C&I Sales Operations Manager.
- Provide leadership and sales support to the S-W C&I Sales Operations Manager to ensure sales and margin targets are met.
- Collaborate with the S-W C&I Sales Operations Manager to develop strategic plans for key customers.
- Work closely with National Telecom and Utility Sales Operations Directors to achieve business objectives.
- Address escalated customer complaints in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Identify and develop opportunities to drive profitable sales growth, including product, customer, process, resource, equipment, and other areas.
- Build strong relationships with senior management at key customer accounts.
- Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Provide guidance to the Warehouse Manager and staff to optimize operational efficiencies.
- Ensure all London branch employees have the necessary tools and support to perform their job functions effectively.
- Coordinate and assist with various functions, including office sales, operations, and administration.
- Provide pricing quotations to customers and follow up on sales opportunities.
- Receive and process customer orders, including picking and shipping.
- Create, implement, track, and communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for London branch employees.
- Offer guidance and support to the purchasing team for all London branch inventory purchases.
- Stay informed about sales objectives, targeted product lines, market intelligence, vendor objectives, and competitor activities.
- Maintain open communication between Sales Operations Leaders, Purchasing, and Administration to address capacity challenges and service issues.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts as required.
- Identify and implement strategies to reduce operating costs.
- Manage freight costs for inbound and outbound shipments for the London business.
- Stay up-to-date with product knowledge, including vendor training, and industry changes.
- Complete documentation and participate in annual forecast meetings.
- Maintain open communication with the Operations Business Manager (OBM) on significant successes and challenges.
- Collaborate with the OBM on significant changes required in the London branch.
- Work closely with the OBM when support is needed.
- Participate in weekly manager's calls and quarterly business reviews.
**Requirements:**
- Minimum five years of industry experience, or a combination of relevant experience and education.
- Understanding of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash-flow management.
- Solid understanding of financial management.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High level of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build relationships among managers, employees, and partners.
- Ability to address problems and opportunities for the company.
- Capability to organize work with minimal supervision.
- Energetic and positive attitude, dependable, organized, and deadline-oriented.
- Stress tolerance.
- Advanced computer skills and knowledge.
**Compensation:**
- Salary: $110 - $150K (negotiable) + variable company and profit sharing.
