Job Summary:

Harris Rebar is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Strategic Placing Manager to lead our field placement operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational management of our union field placement operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and promote a safety culture within Harris Rebar's field placement operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable safety rules, regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve business objectives, including overseeing and developing field leadership and teammates.
  • Ensure production occurs according to schedule and contract requirements.
  • Lead and promote Harris Rebar's vision and values, including safety philosophy, customer focus, treating others with respect, inspiring trust in others, and fostering open and honest communication.
  • Responsible for all aspects of branch operation and profit and loss for field placement teams.
  • Communicate clear expectations for teammates and coach teammates to maximize their potential while effectively delegating to motivate teammates.
  • Build talent by coaching field placement supervisors and teammates at the branch, and working with regional peers to identify and develop future leaders.
  • Work with regional safety and talent development leadership managers to achieve these talent development goals.
  • Direct field superintendents, foremen, and teammates concerning the day-to-day operations of field placement activities, including safety, customer service, operations as a rebar contractor, production volume, cost, and quality.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, motivation, evaluation, and work of all field location personnel so that all employees perform effectively and efficiently.
  • Work with the sales team to promote the Rebar Contractor Model, focusing on the supply and install package.
  • Complete labor pricing for placement project bids.
  • Communicate and clarify follow-through with all company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of fifteen years of experience in Rebar installation at a general foreman or field superintendent level.
  • Demonstrable extensive project management and coordination with a proven track record presenting completion through project life cycles.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with all contractors, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Thorough knowledge of rebar installation procedures and construction site safety.
  • Be open to new ideas, innovative, and result-oriented.
  • Excellent coordination and organizing skills.
  • Flexibility to travel as required to various locations.
  • Ability to work in Canada.
  • Extensive and diversified safety training background.
  • Training in at least three areas: WHMIS, First Aid, Supervisory Safety Training, and/or Construction Safety Competency.
