About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Marketing and Communications Specialist to join our team at the City of Lethbridge. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing marketing strategies to meet our organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and coordinate marketing campaigns, including digital and print materials, to promote the City of Lethbridge's functions and services.
  • Support community-based marketing and fundraising activities to enhance the City's reputation and visibility.
  • Oversee visitor booking software solutions and devise effective solutions to meet specific information needs for internal and external audiences.
  • Network and collaborate with local and regional tourism and media organizations to promote City of Lethbridge activities.
  • Coordinate and maintain the City's websites, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is available to the public.
  • Serve as editor of various newsletters, web content, and external communications, ensuring a consistent tone and style.
  • Write and design promotional materials, including ad copy, speeches, and media releases, to effectively communicate the City's message.
  • Organize and maintain the promotional asset library and related equipment, ensuring seamless execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Design and implement visitor feedback collection processes to inform marketing strategies and improve customer experience.
  • Supervise contractors and media interns, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Assist in the development of budgets and communications and public relations policies, ensuring alignment with the City's goals and objectives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Superior relationship building and networking skills, with a proven track record of successful marketing and communications initiatives.
  • A communications or marketing-related degree or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • 3-5 years of direct experience in marketing or public relations, with a strong understanding of marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Advanced skills in written and oral communication, print production, web maintenance, and social media management.
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Office applications and visual asset creation.
  • Graphic design experience is an asset.
