About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Marketing and Communications Specialist to join our team at the City of Lethbridge. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to meet our organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and coordinate marketing campaigns to promote our museum's functions and services
  • Support community-based marketing and fundraising activities
  • Oversee visitor booking software solutions and promote access to our museum's functions and services
  • Devising and implementing effective solutions to meet specific information needs for internal and external audiences
  • Network and collaborate with local and regional tourism and media organizations to promote our museum's activities
  • Coordinate and maintain our museum's websites
  • Serve as editor of various newsletters, web content, and external communications
  • Write and design promotional materials and ad copy
  • Compose content for speeches, media releases, and corporate correspondence
  • Create media content, including static and video assets
  • Organize and maintain our promotional asset library and related equipment
  • Design and implement visitor feedback collection
  • Supervise contractors and media interns
  • Assist in the development of budgets and communications policies
  • Ensure sponsors' requests are met, including joint promotions and recognition in advertising and publicity
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Superior relationship building and networking skills
  • A communications or marketing-related degree or equivalent professional qualifications
  • 3 to 5 years of direct, successful experience in marketing or public relations
  • Experience in all aspects of developing and managing marketing strategies
  • Advanced skills in written and oral communication, print production, web maintenance, and social media management
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Office applications and visual asset creation
