COWI is seeking a highly experienced Technical Director to lead our underground projects in North America.

About the Role

As a Technical Director, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical solutions for our clients. You will lead project teams in the evaluation of tunnel alignments, geometry of stations & shafts, temporary support systems, geotechnical data, structural analysis, design of tunnels and tunnel liner systems, coffer dams, slurry walls and cross passages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement technical strategies for underground projects
  • Lead project teams in the evaluation of tunnel alignments and design of tunnels and tunnel liner systems
  • Prepare work plans, schedules, and budgets along with preparing engineering reports, specifications, and other technical documents
  • Supervise, coordinate, and manage the production of drawings and specifications for underground projects
  • Perform site and field inspections and condition assessments

Requirements

  • 15+ years of related experience in the tunnel and/or underground infrastructure with 5+ years of prior experience working as a Design Manager
  • P.Eng. designation in Ontario or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire. Licenses in US states an asset
  • Degree in structural engineering or civil engineering or geotechnical engineering or field related to Underground Construction/Tunnelling
