Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team at PCL Constructors Canada Inc.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure the successful implementation of PCL's safety program, including integrating safety protocols into all site plans and procedures.
  • Supervise and direct project teams, including direct and indirect reports, to ensure the delivery of high-quality projects on time and within budget.
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and trades, to ensure that performance, productivity, quality, and safety requirements are met.
  • Proactively manage potential problems, work interferences, and schedule conflicts to ensure project success.
  • Liaise with field engineers, estimators, and subcontractors to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications.
  • Liaise with clients, other site contractors, union and labor relations, and site and office representatives to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement project schedules, identify critical paths, and anticipate constructability issues to ensure project success.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Journeyman certificate or undergraduate degree in a related discipline.
  • NCSO designation required; enrollment in the Gold Seal program preferred.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in field supervision preferred.
  • Successful supervision of a construction workforce.
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience in construction industry and company operations, including building materials, construction specifications, and methods and procedures.
  • Understanding of project scope and ability to apply basic engineering principles and embed solutions in construction plans and schedules.
  • Proficient understanding of and ability to apply logic to the schedule to build a plan using scheduling software.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple scopes of a construction project, including scheduling, monitoring, and coordinating own forces work and trade contractors.
  • Thorough understanding of productivity rates, Labor Cost Reports, and ability to interpret cost reports.
  • Ability to complete material, labor, and equipment takeoffs.
  • Thorough understanding of contract language with the ability to identify and mitigate risks and identify and leverage opportunities.
  • In-depth knowledge of and application of safety and environmental principles/procedures/legislation.
  • Ability to lead and run effective site meetings with the client, consultants, trades, own forces work, and internal employees.
  • Demonstrated conflict-resolution skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional judgment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems.
