Job Summary
We are seeking a Psychiatrist to join our Burnaby Mental Health and Substance Use team at the Burnaby Hospital campus. This is a full-time position requiring 5 days per week, with participation in the on-call rota mandatory. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide mental health management, connection to services, and communication with community care providers.
Key Responsibilities
The Psychiatrist will be responsible for:
- Providing consultations to patients and connecting them to services and referrals for ongoing care
- Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care
- Participating in the on-call rota to provide after-hours support
- Receiving ongoing mentorship and support from FH Mental Health Physicians
Requirements
To be successful in this role, the candidate must have:
- CMPA membership
- Eligibility for full licensure with the CPSBC
- Experience working in mental health and substance use
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
