The Lead Financial Strategist plays a crucial role in assessing and supporting the Manitoba Metis Federation's financial objectives and economic forecasting. This position is also tasked with managing account reconciliations, formulating financial strategies in collaboration with the senior leadership team in Finance, scrutinizing financial data, recognizing trends, and providing actionable recommendations for enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct financial forecasting, reporting, and tracking of operational metrics;
  2. Analyze financial data and develop financial models to support decision-making;
  3. Report on financial performance and prepare documentation for regular leadership assessments;
  4. Review historical results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and propose improvements;
  5. Contribute to shaping the Manitoba Metis Federation's financial trajectory and support tactical initiatives;
  6. Collaborate closely with the finance team to ensure precise and timely financial reporting;
  7. Partner with the Chief Administrative Officer and senior finance leadership on long-term financial planning;
  8. Establish performance metrics that align with the Manitoba Metis Federation's strategic goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance is advantageous;
  2. Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation;
  3. Minimum of five years' experience in financial data analysis and forecasting;
  4. Experience in a not-for-profit organization or government is highly desirable;
  5. Proven experience collaborating with executive teams and providing recommendations;
  6. Comprehensive understanding of financial regulations and risk management practices;
  7. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management abilities;
  8. Familiarity with Red River Métis culture, and Manitoba Metis Federation programs and services is a significant advantage;
  9. Willingness to travel, valid Manitoba Driver's license, and access to a reliable vehicle.
