Radiation Therapy Specialist in Treatment Planning

Position Overview:

The Radiation Therapist for Treatment Planning plays a crucial role in the Radiation Oncology Program by engaging in all facets of the treatment planning process. This encompasses various responsibilities such as simulation consultations, image integration, structure development, and the formulation of treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct simulation consultations to gather essential patient data.
  • Import images and create anatomical structures for treatment planning.
  • Generate comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Provide educational support and clinical instruction to radiation therapy students and residents.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy program, with eligibility for active membership in the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technology (CAMRT).

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current registration with CAMRT is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced credentials such as Computed Tomography Imaging Certificate (CTIC) or Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD).
  • Bachelor's degree in Radiation Science or Health Science.
  • Experience in senior or supervisory roles.

Desirable Skills:

  • Proficient in relevant software and radiation therapy technology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Dedication to maintaining high standards in patient treatment support.
  • Effective problem-solving and assessment skills.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks.
  • Flexibility to adapt to patient needs and clinical demands.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and quality improvement.

Work Environment:

Work hours may vary to meet clinical requirements, and a satisfactory employment record is essential. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
