Position Summary:

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead our Satellite Systems team based in Montreal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee various teams involved in production and logistics operations.
  • Assess program requirements, identify constraints, and resolve operational conflicts.
  • Drive improvements in production methodologies and processes.
  • Provide guidance to program and line managers regarding resource allocation challenges.
  • Allocate production personnel based on the established production timeline.
  • Mentor, train, and contribute to the professional development of team members.
  • Ensure the availability of resources, materials, and operations while adhering to quality standards.
  • Effectively communicate relevant information and foster team autonomy and efficiency.
  • Perform supervisory duties within designated areas, adhering to collective agreements.
  • Support the entire production team in their roles, offering guidance on duties and production management.
  • Collaborate with program planning and control staff to manage internal operations and mitigate risks.
  • Engage with program and line managers on material, production, and operational issues.
  • Act as a backup for the Production Manager during their absence.
  • Communicate with line managers regarding critical failures and recovery strategies.
  • Train and mentor employees in specialized areas and assist in performance evaluations.
  • Conduct interviews for potential new hires and recommend candidates to the Production Manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations/Production Management, Mechanical Engineering, Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant management or supervisory experience in quality, cost, and schedule-sensitive environments.
  • Familiarity with electronic and mechanical technologies used in space hardware production is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of planning tools and ERP systems, including their interrelations.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel functionalities.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes is beneficial.
  • Experience working in a unionized setting is preferred.

Additional Information:

Candidates must obtain and maintain security clearance at the reliability status level and pass assessments for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
