Electrical Engineering Associate Director

Moving2Canada is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Associate Director to join our team in Vancouver, BC and Toronto, ON offices. As a key member of our Electrical team, you will be responsible for leading complex electrical engineering projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage electrical engineering concepts, including design briefs and concept reports.
  • Review and manage construction budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Perform reviews of existing installations and interpret the impact on projects.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, communicating requirements to internal and external project teams.
  • Coordinate document management with internal and external project teams.
  • Recommend and apply project procurement methodologies.
  • Review deliverables for completeness and accuracy, promoting company standards and processes.
  • Develop and improve processes and procedures for project management.
  • Lead Field Representative teams and delegate site activities to Project Managers.
  • Prepare and review change notices, responding to technical and financial queries.
  • Support accounts receivable and prepare project schedules.
  • Lead human resources-related activities, including recruitment, employee development, and performance appraisals.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of project engineering experience in electrical building services.
  • Strong leadership qualities and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work in complex environments, dealing with multiple projects and clients.
  • Experience working with other consultants and contractors, and coordination of major projects.
  • Knowledge of provincial building code, electrical code, CSA, ULC, IEEE, IES, and NFPA standards.
  • LEED certification or experience implementing sustainable design is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to work over regular business hours.
