About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Human Resources professional to join our team as the Associate Director, Human Resources and Talent Management. This is a 14-month contract position that will play a critical role in supporting the strategic priorities, mission, vision, and values of CIS Ontario.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Strategic Planning: Provide leadership to and participate in the staffing and hiring process from assessment of position needs to employee onboarding.
  2. HR Expertise and Advice: Provide expertise and advise managers on confidential, sensitive, and complex employee and HR matters and in department planning and staffing.
  3. Job Development and Evaluation: Guide the development of job descriptions, ensuring accuracy and alignment with responsibilities.
  4. Compensation and Benefits: Implement the school's salary policies, conduct job evaluations, and make salary recommendations.
  5. Leadership Development: Coach, advise, and support leaders in the development of their teams, providing resources and sourcing growth opportunities.
  6. Employee Communications: Ensure timely administration and response to all employee communications, letters, notification of changes with respect to benefits, changes in employment conditions, approvals for leave of absences, etc. in collaboration with the HR Coordinator.
  7. Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Centre for Strategic Leadership in supporting the development of leadership programs.
  8. HR Systems and Reporting: Monitor, track, and prepare reports related to human resources activities and systems for the leadership team.
  9. Employee Database Management: Provide oversight for all changes and updates to the employee database.
  10. Project Management: Participate in school-wide projects ensuring the HR implications are represented and managed effectively and in keeping with the school's culture and values.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources professional with 6+ years of progressive experience including management experience. The ideal candidate will have a degree or certification in Human Resources, with CHRL designation as an asset. They will be a skilled collaborator and leader engaging with diverse stakeholders, able to build strong relationships and manage complex and competing priorities. The ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and manage sensitive situations is essential. A commitment to strong employee engagement, development, and excellence is also required.

The successful candidate will be proficient in MS Office applications, Google Suites, and ADP WorkforceNow is an asset. They will also have a strong understanding of HR best practices and be able to apply them in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
