At the Canadian Red Cross, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in providing financial data and analysis to support program operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely and accurate financial data and analysis to program operational staff to inform budgeting and planning decisions.
  • Review and analyze program response and annual budget submissions to ensure completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness.
  • Prepare and submit annual budget submissions to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper financial structure setup, including bank accounts, trust funds, and financial dimension/billable coding.
  • Provide financial data and analysis to support monthly projections of year-end actuals.
  • Identify budgeting and projection deficiencies and recommend areas for improvement.
  • Evaluate funds advanced to operational staff and ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of related financial information.
  • Identify risk exposure of programs and projects and provide scenarios and solutions to eliminate or mitigate these risks.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly project financial and statistical variance analysis and reports for program operational staff, senior management, and external funders.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Working towards or completion of a chartered professional accounting designation is considered an asset.
  • Five to seven years of job-related experience.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting theory, techniques, and policies.
  • Working knowledge and experience with AX Dynamics and BI360 is considered an asset.
  • Superior knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with operational staff, senior management, and external parties.
