Senior Financial Analyst

AltaGas is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Development and Investor Relations team. As a key member of this team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and execution of strategic initiatives that drive sustainable growth and shareholder value creation.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain quarterly disclosure materials, including press releases, presentations, and conference call scripts.
- Support shareholder and research analyst engagements, including scheduling, material preparation, and attending select investor and research analyst meetings.
- Conduct valuation and investment analysis on major transactions and communicate recommendations and conclusions to AltaGas Senior Management and the Board of Directors.
- Assist with transaction due diligence and facilitate discussions with key internal and external experts.
- Support senior management in the development of the annual Strategic Plan for all business segments.
- Work cross-functionally with Midstream, Utilities, Finance, Corporate Communications, Treasury, Tax, Accounting, and Human Resources teams.
- Provide a supporting role in complex problem-solving on major projects that require company-wide coordination.
- Manage highly confidential information on a need-to-know basis in an efficient manner.
- Bachelor's Degree with a finance or accounting focus preferred.
- 3+ Years of work experience, including time spent in fast-paced and demanding roles with cross-team organization and coordination.
- Financial-related designation (i.e., CFA, CPA) or master's level university is considered an asset but not required.
- Experience in capital markets would be considered a strong asset.
- Excellent financial analysis skills and the ability to achieve timely and focused analytical conclusions.
- Possess a strong understanding of energy markets across North America.
- Detailed finance knowledge and expertise in Microsoft applications (Excel and PowerPoint).
- Ability to think independently, critically, and analytically while maintaining macro and micro-level perspectives.
