Key Responsibilities- Project Coordination: Coordinate all team members and third-party contractors to ensure projects are completed according to plan.
- Safety and Compliance: Maintain adherence to client safety standards and ensure required documentation is filed.
- Project Budgeting: Create and manage project budgets for assigned projects.
- Pre-Construction: Develop pre-construction RFP packages.
- Project Meetings: Conduct project meetings, set milestones, and formulate monthly owner reports.
- Job Processes: Establish job processes, including RFI's, submittals, and pay applications, and approve pay applications and negotiate subcontract change orders.
- Project Scheduling: Perform project scheduling, ensure project quality control, and establish overall project logistics.
- Closeout Process: Manage the closeout process.
- Subcontractor Management: Ensure fair treatment of subcontractors at all times.
- Customer Relations: Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs and explain how these needs can be met by specific products and services.
- Education: Two-year college diploma and/or Journeyman or Red Seal Certification.
- Experience: 5 years' Project Management experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor.
- Project Experience: Experience on projects with values in the $10 million to $50 million range for top 40 general contractors in Canada.
- Commercial Building Knowledge: Strong commercial building knowledge and excellent verbal and management skills to prepare cost estimates for bidding purposes.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to organize necessary resources, including people, tools, and time to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results.
- Market Knowledge: Working knowledge of current market conditions, including pricing conventions and trends.
- Attention to Detail: Consistent attention to details with the ability to identify discrepancies.
- Computer Skills: Working knowledge in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and assess trade performance.
- Engineering Principles: Ability to apply basic engineering principles to construction challenges.
- Scheduling: Ability to visualize and create the project schedule's critical path.
- Resource Management: Ability to schedule, monitor, and forecast resources for optimum efficiency.
