About the Role
The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Political Science Professor to join our esteemed faculty. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and teaching in the dynamic field of Arctic Studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lectures and seminars on 'Arctic Politics and Security' at the university level.
- Conduct original research on governance, security, and international relations in the Arctic region.
- Analyze national policies, the evolution of the Arctic Council, indigenous self-determination, and relevant international law frameworks.
- Evaluate the impact of global conflicts and security threats on the Arctic environment.
- Examine Arctic military exercises, NATO's role, Russian remilitarization efforts, and China's growing presence in the region.
- Provide specialized insights into Canada's Arctic policy and its implications for regional stability.
Qualifications
- A PhD in Political Science or a closely related field.
