Position Overview

The Manitoba Government is dedicated to providing a comprehensive range of child welfare and family assistance services. We are currently looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of Service Assistant. This position plays a crucial part in collaborating with the community to deliver preventive and supportive services to families in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist case managers in executing their responsibilities effectively.
  • Provide a variety of support services to children and families, both directly and indirectly, within the framework of child welfare legislation.
  • Support program operations within the unit.

Employment Conditions:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Must undergo and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including vulnerable sector check, Child Abuse Registry, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Prior Contact Check.
  • Possess a valid driver's license, have access to a vehicle, and be willing to travel as required.
  • Designated as bilingual in French and English.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Relevant diploma in social services or a combination of education and experience in a social services setting.
  • Experience in providing direct support to children and families.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with diverse populations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a knack for prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Fluency in French, both spoken and written.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with the Child and Family Services Act.

This role is integral to the Family Services team, providing essential support to ensure the well-being of children and families in our care.
