Metal Fabrication Helper

We are seeking a dedicated Metal Fabrication Helper to support our operations at Otto's Art Metal Limited. This role involves assisting skilled metal workers in various tasks related to metal product manufacturing.
Education Requirements- Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
The position is set in a structural steel plant and involves working in an industrial facility that may be noisy.
Key Responsibilities- Operate equipment for cleaning metal surfaces, removing excess welds, rust, and other contaminants.
- Manually transport raw materials and finished products throughout the facility.
- Assist various metal workers, including structural steel fitters and machine operators.
- Sort and organize metal sheets, parts, and scrap materials.
- Utilize hand tools to grind or chip excess metal from products.
- Maintain cleanliness of machines and work areas.
- Load and unload materials from vehicles.
- Interpret and follow work orders accurately.
Possession of a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate is required.
Equipment ExperienceExperience with lifting devices is preferred.
Transportation InformationNote that public transportation is not available in the area.
Physical Requirements- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capable of handling heavy loads, up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Dependable and reliable.
- A strong team player.
This is a permanent position with a work schedule of 38 hours per week.
Language RequirementThe primary language of work is English.
