Position Overview

As an Uncertified Home Care Attendant, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate care and assistance to individuals residing in their homes. Reporting to the Resource Coordinator, you will work independently to provide personalized support, ensuring clients receive the necessary help to manage daily activities and maintain a high quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Offer mobility support, assisting clients with walking, transferring, and using assistive devices.
  • Administer medication reminders and ensure proper dosage adherence.
  • Contribute to a clean and organized living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
  • Prepare nutritious meals according to individual dietary needs and preferences.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience caring for children, seniors, or individuals with disabilities is essential.
  • Experience with housekeeping and meal preparation is highly desirable.

Education & Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 10 education required.
  • Successful completion of the Uncertified Home Care Attendant training program is mandatory.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a vehicle are necessary for travel between client locations.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage your workload effectively.
  • Proficiency in English; fluency in Aboriginal languages is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a positive and supportive environment for clients.

Physical Demands

This role involves physical demands and potential exposure to various hazards. Good physical and mental health is essential, along with the ability to handle challenging situations and maintain composure in stressful environments.
