Job Title: Uncertified Health Care Aide

At WRHA Community Health Services, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Uncertified Health Care Aide to join our team. As a key member of our Home Care Program, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes.

Job Summary:

The Uncertified Health Care Aide will work independently, traveling within the community to visit clients in their homes and assist them with activities of daily living. Tasks will include personal care, assistance with mobility and transfers, in-home respite services, medication assistance, and documentation. Additional duties will include housekeeping, laundry, and preparing bulk or individual meals.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care, including bathing and toileting, to clients in their homes
  • Assist clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Provide in-home respite services, giving clients and their families a much-needed break
  • Assist clients with medication management, ensuring they take their medications as prescribed
  • Document client care and services provided, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
  • Perform housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation tasks as needed
Requirements:
  • Recent experience in providing care to children, persons 65 years and older, and/or those with disabilities is required
  • Previous experience with housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation is preferred
  • Must have a minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards
  • Must successfully complete the WRHA Uncertified Home Care Attendant paid training program
  • Must possess and maintain a valid full stage Manitoba Class 5 driver's license or equivalent and personal access to a vehicle at the time of application
Working Conditions:

The Uncertified Health Care Aide will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, interacting with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. The position involves extensive physical activity, including lifting and bending, and may require working in unpredictable driving conditions or inclement weather. The successful candidate must be in good physical and mental health and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
