Job Title: Uncertified Home Care Attendant

WRHA Community Health Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Uncertified Home Care Attendant to join our team. As a key member of our Home Care Program, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes.

Job Summary:

The Uncertified Home Care Attendant will work independently, traveling within the community to visit clients in their homes and assist them with activities of daily living. This includes personal care, assistance with mobility and transfers, in-home respite services, medication assistance, and documentation. Additional duties may include housekeeping, laundry, and preparing bulk or individual meals.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living to clients in their homes
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, including the use of mechanical lifts and sliders
  • Provide in-home respite services to support clients and their families
  • Assist with medication management and documentation
  • Perform housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation tasks as needed
Requirements:
  • Recent experience in providing care to children, persons 65 years and older, and/or those with disabilities
  • Previous experience with housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation is preferred
  • Must have a minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards
  • Must possess and maintain a valid full stage Manitoba Class 5 driver's license or equivalent
Working Conditions:

The Uncertified Home Care Attendant will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, interacting with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. The position requires extensive physical activity, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods. The incumbent must be in good physical and mental health and able to work in a variety of environments, including clients' homes and community settings.

Successful applicants will participate in a full-time paid training program, receiving instruction on subjects such as routine practices, ergonomics, and fall prevention.

Please note that all job offers are conditional upon the successful completion of the HCA1 paid training program. Successful applicants will be required to complete a return of service agreement to work a minimum of 12 months within the Home Care Program.
