About the Opportunity

Harris Leadership Strategies is seeking a seasoned Chief Information Security Officer to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive information security strategy to safeguard against unauthorized access to our data and related computing resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Information Security Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to define objectives for information security and develop a comprehensive strategy to mitigate risks.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Create and implement information security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Incident Response and Management: Develop and maintain a cyber security incident response protocol and lead the response efforts during security incidents.
  • Team Leadership and Management: Provide leadership, motivation, coaching, and professional development to foster engagement and a focus on customer service among the Information Security team members.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior administration, academic leaders, and the campus community to deliver a comprehensive information security strategy and create/inform the appropriate policies to manage information security risks.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's Degree in Information Security or related field, plus equivalent training and experience.
  • Certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years' progressively responsible experience in computing and information security, network security issues, and security incident response or related information technology fields, preferably in a higher education or equivalent complex environment.
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in leadership and people management.
