About the Role:
Hornblower Cruises and Events is seeking a skilled Kitchen Steward to join our team. As a key member of our culinary operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen on board our vessels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and distribute menu items to tour vessels in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain stock levels and ensure proper storage of provisions to meet the demands of our culinary operations.
- Operate dish machine and maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety.
- Assist with food preparation and cleaning tasks as needed to support the success of our culinary team.
- Monitor stock levels and report any shortages to management to ensure seamless operations.
- Adhere to food safety guidelines and procedures at all times to protect the health and well-being of our guests and crew.
- Assist with receiving and organizing stock shipments to ensure timely delivery of essential provisions.
- Contribute to a positive and efficient kitchen environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.
Requirements:
- Prior kitchen experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
- Food Handlers Certification is required.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic are essential for success in this role.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow directions closely is crucial.
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds is required.
