Position Overview

As a Child Development Specialist, you will play a crucial role in nurturing the growth and development of young children in a supportive environment. Your contributions will be essential in fostering their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social skills.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
Work Environment

This position is based in a child care center, where you will collaborate with a dedicated team to create a safe and engaging atmosphere for children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support colleagues with housekeeping and meal preparation tasks.
  • Ensure the maintenance of daycare equipment is up to standard.
  • Assist in implementing programs designed to enhance children's development.
  • Help maintain accurate records as required by early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Engage children through storytelling, music, and creative activities.
  • Guide children in developing healthy habits related to eating, dressing, and personal hygiene.
  • Prepare snacks and organize spaces for meal and rest times.
  • Document observations of children's progress for review by educators or supervisors.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's development and any concerns.
Certifications and Requirements
  • Possession of a Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1) certification is necessary.
  • Must provide a criminal record check and immunization records.
Physical and Personal Attributes
  • This role requires physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential.
  • Dependability, flexibility, and reliability are key personal attributes for success in this position.
Employment Conditions
