About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team at On-time Freight Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across the country in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mountain Driving Expertise: Our drivers must be comfortable navigating challenging mountain routes and have the skills to handle steep grades and tight turns.
  • Load and Unload Goods: You will be responsible for loading and unloading goods at various locations, ensuring that cargo is secure and properly handled.
  • Operate and Drive Straight or Articulated Trucks: Our drivers operate a range of vehicles, including straight and articulated trucks, to transport goods and materials across the country.
  • Perform Brake Adjustments: Regular brake checks and adjustments are essential to ensure the safety of our drivers and the public.
  • Perform Emergency Roadside Repairs: In the event of a breakdown, our drivers must be able to perform basic repairs to get back on the road as quickly as possible.
  • Perform Pre-Trip, En Route and Post-Trip Inspection: Our drivers are responsible for conducting regular inspections of their vehicles to ensure they are safe and roadworthy.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance: Regular maintenance is essential to extend the life of our vehicles and prevent breakdowns.
  • Tarping and Ensuring Safety and Security of Cargo: Our drivers must ensure that cargo is properly secured and protected during transport.
  • Transport and Handle Dangerous Goods: Our drivers may be required to transport hazardous materials, and must follow strict safety protocols to ensure public safety.
  • Work Term: Permanent: This is a permanent position with On-time Freight Inc.
  • Work Language: English: Our drivers must be fluent in English to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
  • Hours: 35 hours per week: Our drivers work a standard 35-hour week, with regular breaks and time off.
