Job Title: Customs Broker

We are excited to announce a position for a Customs Broker to become a vital part of our team at CB Canada. In this role, you will utilize your extensive expertise in entry documentation and classification, engage in customs clearance processes with governmental bodies, and ensure compliance with customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit customs documentation and manage freight forwarding to specified destinations, collaborating with both international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers.
  • Guarantee a precise and prompt customs clearance process for all entries handled.
  • Address any discrepancies in documentation with clients and supervisors.
  • Coordinate the delivery of goods to specified locations.
  • Resolve issues related to financial and accounting reconciliations.
  • Scan entries into the imaging system within designated timeframes.
  • Generate reports, presentations, and analyses utilizing various software and databases.
  • Follow up on documentation discrepancies, providing troubleshooting and effective communication with clients and foreign suppliers.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Weekend work may be required on a rotational basis and holidays based on operational needs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a customs brokerage role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of customs operations, laws, regulations, and interactions with other government departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Certification from a customs broker association is preferred.
  • Fast and accurate data entry capabilities.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
  • Ability to commute as required.
