Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Total Rewards Manager to lead our compensation and benefits team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing total rewards strategies that align with our company's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Total Rewards Team: Manage, train, guide, and mentor a team of total rewards professionals to ensure the successful delivery of compensation and benefits programs.
  • Compensation Strategy: Develop and implement compensation strategies that attract, retain, and motivate top talent. This includes managing the annual compensation review process, benchmarking studies, compensation projection surveys, pay equity analysis, and organizational structure recommendations.
  • Group Benefits: Lead the annual benefit renewal process, benchmarking of plan designs, and recommendations for changes to ensure our benefits programs remain competitive and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Pension Plan: Work with internal pension plan administrators to manage the defined benefit (DB) pension plan and other financial benefits.
  • Other Rewards & Recognition Programs: Design and lead service milestone programs, peer recognition platforms, paid time off policies, wellness initiatives, and other recognition programs to enhance employee engagement and retention.
  • Employee Leaves: Oversee employee leaves, including disability management, absence management, personal leaves of absence, and other related matters.
  • Program Metrics and Research: Track program metrics and conduct research to make data-driven recommendations to senior leadership on total rewards strategies.
  • Job Evaluations: Conduct job evaluations for net new positions and maintain internal job databases.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors, including group benefits providers, recognition platforms, and perk providers.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Partner with internal stakeholders to implement strategies to elevate the total rewards program and enhance employee experience.
  • Industry Trends and Legislative Changes: Maintain expertise on legislative changes and industry trends in total rewards through strategic networking, research, and thought leadership events.

Requirements

  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Human Resource or a related field, or a college diploma with post-graduate studies in Human Resources Management.
  • Experience: Seven years of professional-level experience in a combination of human resources, compensation, benefits, pension, and wellness.
  • Designations: CEBS, CHRP, or CHRL designation an asset.
  • Skills: Deep understanding of HR policies and procedures, excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, ability to lead meetings and presentations, and ability to interface and influence all levels of staff with professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Personal Qualities: Collaborative team player, strong customer service orientation, agile and consultative problem solver, and demonstrated track record of developing innovative approaches backed by industry research.
