Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Academic Success Facilitator to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that students with varied learning requirements receive the necessary support to thrive academically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage individualized learning plans for students with identified needs.
- Identify effective learning strategies tailored to each student's requirements.
- Ensure the consistent application of accommodations and instructional modifications across all educational settings.
- Create customized programs aimed at enhancing student learning outcomes.
- Provide resources and guidance to students and their families regarding learning differences and support strategies.
- Assist educators in implementing differentiated instruction and assessment practices.
- Support students in various settings, including one-on-one, small groups, and classroom environments.
- Collaborate with counselors to facilitate smooth transitions for students between different educational stages.
- Work alongside counselors to assist students requiring additional academic support due to mental health considerations.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will embody the values of CIS Ontario, demonstrating compassion, intelligence, and adaptability. You will be committed to creating meaningful learning experiences and fostering an inclusive atmosphere for all students.
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid Ontario Teacher's Certificate with qualifications for intermediate/senior levels.
- Completion of Special Education Part 1 and 2 (Specialist designation preferred).
- A minimum of two years of experience in Special Education, working with students in various instructional settings.
- Proficiency in interpreting psychoeducational assessments and developing student learning plans.
- Experience with early intervention strategies, particularly in literacy and mathematics.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to engage positively with students, parents, and colleagues.
