About the Role
The Principal Electrical Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting Westinghouse Electric Canada's vision of delivering innovative nuclear energy solutions. This position involves collaborating with a team of experts dedicated to advancing the art and science of nuclear power plant design and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Conducting engineering design and analysis for nuclear projects, focusing on electrical systems, instrumentation, and control designs.
- Collaborating with various internal teams to gather essential information for project execution.
- Planning and organizing work to meet project deadlines and requirements.
- Quickly learning and applying standards, techniques, and procedures for developing engineering design documents, including calculations and specifications.
- Utilizing software tools such as Mathcad, Matlab, PSPice, or similar applications, with a willingness to learn new software as needed.
- Proficiently using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Access.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
- Licensure as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with 10 to 12 years preferred, particularly in the nuclear sector.
