Part-time Tutors for English and Math Support

Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated tutors who are passionate about fostering academic growth in a supportive learning environment. Our programs are designed to provide personalized assistance to students aiming to enhance their educational skills and study techniques.

Ideal candidates should have a genuine commitment to student success and be adept at teaching learners from Kindergarten through Grade 8 in English and elementary mathematics.

Tutors at Oxford Learning Centres are equipped with specialized training in our unique educational philosophy and methodologies. Previous experience in assisting students with their academic work is advantageous.

Position Requirements

Our centres operate during after-school hours, evenings, and Saturdays. Candidates must demonstrate a solid foundation in both spoken and written English and be comfortable instructing students up to Grade 8.

This position requires in-person engagement at the centre. A vulnerable sector screening is a prerequisite.

Education:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or equivalent certification and/or relevant experience

Experience:

  • Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Prior experience in tutoring or teaching
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

Responsibilities (Position Details)

As a tutor, you will engage directly with students, undertaking the following responsibilities:

  • Instructing up to three students simultaneously at varying academic levels
  • Adhering to the Oxford Learning methodologies and educational philosophies
  • Documenting post-lesson notes
  • Providing daily updates on student progress
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor at all times

Job Type: Part-time

Salary Range: $20 per hour

Schedule:

  • Afternoon to early evening hours based on student availability
  • Shifts available Monday through Saturday
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate university commitments
