Part-time Tutors for English and Math

Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. is seeking energetic, dedicated, and passionate tutors who thrive in a fulfilling educational setting. Our programs provide personalized assistance to students aiming to enhance their academic abilities and study techniques.

Ideal candidates should have a genuine commitment to student success and be adept at instructing learners from Kindergarten through Grade 8 in English.

Tutors at Oxford Learning Centres are equipped with our unique teaching philosophy and methodologies. Prior experience in assisting students with their assignments is advantageous.

Position Requirements

Our centres operate during weekdays in the after-school and evening hours, as well as on Saturdays. Candidates should have a solid foundation in both spoken and written English and be comfortable teaching up to Grade 8.

This position requires in-person attendance at the centre. A vulnerable sector screening is necessary.

We invite applications from individuals who meet the following criteria:

Education:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or equivalent certification and/or relevant experience

Experience:

  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in tutoring or teaching
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks effectively

Responsibilities (Position Details)

As a tutor, you will engage directly with students, undertaking the following responsibilities:

  • Instructing up to three students simultaneously at varying levels
  • Adhering to the Oxford Learning teaching methodologies
  • Documenting post-lesson notes
  • Providing daily updates on student progress
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor at all times

Job Type: Part-time

Salary Range: $20 / hour

Schedule:

  • Afternoon to early evening hours based on student availability
  • Shifts available Monday through Saturday
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate university commitments
