A position as a Cybersecurity Incident Response Specialist under the guidance of the Senior Director of Cyber Incident Management at the National Bank of Canada involves collaborating closely with your colleagues to enhance detection techniques and optimize their effectiveness within the Security Operations Center (SOC).

Utilizing your expertise in process enhancement, monitoring, and security incident management, you will serve as a key resource in protecting against cyber threats faced by the Bank, providing tailored solutions to tackle these challenges more efficiently.

Your Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert, representing the incident response unit across various departments within the Bank.
  • Conduct investigations into intricate cybersecurity incidents.
  • Design and facilitate incident simulation exercises (Table Top) informed by insights gained from recent events and other attack scenarios.
  • Implement essential process and procedural enhancements following audits, incident analyses, and drills, with an emphasis on ongoing improvement.
  • Remain informed about industry trends in cybersecurity defense strategies and propose significant enhancements for team implementation.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of the team's competencies in relevant domains.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline along with 5 years of pertinent information security experience.
  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC).
  • Excellent collaborative skills within a team environment.
  • Recognized as a catalyst for change.
