JOB OVERVIEW:

As a Snow School Professional, your primary role is to enhance the skiing experience for our guests. You will be tasked with delivering high-quality skiing, snowboarding, and telemark skiing lessons in a professional manner, while also ensuring that our guests enjoy a safe and memorable visit. Your interactions with guests will help build a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver lessons according to the standards set by CSIA/CASI/CANSI and the Whitewater Snow School leadership.
  • Assist in organizing group lessons for guests.
  • Become well-versed in all Snow School offerings, including pricing and schedules.
  • Promote Snow School services and staff throughout the resort.
  • Maintain a professional appearance as outlined in the employee handbook while on duty.
  • Exhibit a positive demeanor when teaching or interacting with guests and colleagues.
  • Prioritize safety in all lesson delivery.
  • Complete all necessary documentation for lessons and reports as assigned.
  • Assist in various departments when not instructing, including rental services, guest services, and event support.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Advocate for sustainable practices in daily operations and planning.
  • Contribute to the safety culture by reviewing and updating relevant manuals and guidelines.
  • Work towards achieving departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support organizational objectives.
  • Embrace and promote the mission and values of Whitewater.
  • Stay informed about legal standards related to safety, equipment, and operational practices.
  • Carry out other related duties as necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum CSIA or CASI level 1 certification (or equivalent), with dues fully paid.
  • Preferred experience working with children.
  • Preferred background in guest service roles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to engage with diverse personalities.
  • Capability to teach multiple skiing disciplines is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in teaching in multiple languages is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment.

Note: A Criminal Records Check will be required upon hire.

Additional Note: Snow School Professionals are expected to select a secondary department for operational flexibility.
