Job SummaryThe Lactation Consultant Registered Nurse will provide expert care and support to mothers and their newborns in the NICU, focusing on breastfeeding and lactation issues. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a passion for patient-centered care.
Responsibilities- Provide lactation consultations and support to mothers and their newborns in the NICU
- Assess and address breastfeeding and lactation issues, including complex cases
- Develop and implement individualized breastfeeding plans
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and education programs
- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
- Current International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) Certification
- Recent experience in Neonatal ICU
- Experience in assessing and addressing breastfeeding and lactation issues
- Strong clinical skills and excellent communication
