About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Worker to join our team at Family and Children's Services Niagara. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, addressing repair and maintenance issues, and ensuring the overall upkeep of our properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and carry out routine maintenance needs, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs
  • Operate society vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring regular vehicle maintenance
  • Provide courier services between offices and in the community, ensuring timely delivery of mail and supplies
  • Develop professional working relationships with team members, actively participating in supervision and team meetings
Requirements
  • Grade 12 Diploma
  • Previous working experience in property maintenance or construction industry, preferably with a carpentry background
  • Demonstrated experience and competence with various power and hand tools
  • Working knowledge and demonstrated ability in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting skills
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems required
  • Valid G Driver's License and access to a reliable motor vehicle with appropriate liability insurance required
Working Conditions
  • Occasional periods of sitting and computer/phone use
  • The incumbent has the freedom to move about or change position at will
  • Regularly required to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 20 lbs and less frequently over 20 lbs.
  • May be exposed to disagreeable elements such as chemical/cleaning substances, fumes, noise, etc.
  • Required to work both indoors and outdoors
  • Multi-tasks within a fast-paced, high-volume and demanding environment
