We are seeking a Patient Services Manager within the Allied Health sector.
Vancouver Coastal Health is in search of a dedicated Patient Services Manager to enhance our Allied Health team. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality patient care and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the effective and efficient operation of a clinical program/unit. Provide leadership and direction for operational management, resource utilization, risk management, and quality enhancement of the clinical program/unit. Facilitate connections between the clinical portfolio and community health services to address the ongoing needs of clients and their families, ensuring smooth transitions from acute care to community services. Lead an interdisciplinary team while collaborating with colleagues and key stakeholders to achieve excellence in client and family-centered care, education, and research within a complex multi-site environment. Communicate the strategic direction of the program/unit, aligning with the vision, values, and strategic goals of Vancouver Coastal Health. Develop a comprehensive workforce plan in collaboration with key partners to ensure adequate staffing in line with operational demands. Establish effective practices to measure resource utilization and the quality of care within budgetary constraints. Collaborate in the formulation of the program/unit budget, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and monitoring adherence to the budget. Implement performance management processes within an interdisciplinary team framework. Ensure clarity of roles, adherence to accreditation standards, and the safe delivery of services, establishing systems for effective discharge planning and client flow. Foster an environment of evidence-based practice that encourages research participation and supports educational opportunities for staff. Report unsafe conditions promptly to appropriate personnel. Perform additional related duties as required.Qualifications:
Education & Experience
A Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a relevant healthcare discipline, supplemented with leadership and business management training, alongside seven (7) to ten (10) years of recent, relevant clinical and progressive leadership experience, including direct supervisory roles or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Current registration/membership with a recognized professional association. Strong communication skills to operate effectively within a complex interdisciplinary environment, including the ability to engage with the physician community. Basic proficiency in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and/or database programs, along with the ability to utilize a computerized patient care information system.Knowledge & Skills:
Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop, manage, and evaluate clinical programs that consider client needs and service delivery interrelationships. Ability to understand available resources for the program/unit while maintaining quality in all resource utilization decisions; provide feedback and analysis on budget variances, and recommend corrective actions. Ability to facilitate and negotiate effective resolutions to human resource challenges. Ability to cultivate collaborative relationships that support professional practice and ongoing staff development. Ability to promote clinical research opportunities to ensure evidence-based practices within an interdisciplinary team environment.
