CNA is seeking a Lead Underwriter for their Commercial Vehicle division. The successful candidate will possess a strategic outlook on their career trajectory and will be tasked with assessing risks within a designated portfolio. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of underwriting principles and insurance industry practices, alongside exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate applications and documentation for risks necessitating advanced underwriting expertise
  • Assess risk acceptability in line with organizational guidelines and criteria
  • Generate quotes and engage in negotiations with brokers to achieve favorable results
  • Examine the profitability of underwritten risks and compile reports for executive review
  • Establish and nurture relationships with brokers

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in vehicle underwriting
  • A minimum of 5 years of specific experience in commercial vehicle underwriting
  • Professional certifications such as CIP/CRM are preferred
