Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Interior Health Authority. As a key member of our support services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of designated staff, providing feedback and guidance to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Dietician to plan menus and develop recipes that meet the nutritional and therapeutic needs of our patients and residents.
  • Estimate food requirements, order supplies, and resolve discrepancies with suppliers to ensure efficient operations.
  • Visit patients and families to obtain and exchange diet-related information, ensuring that our services meet their needs.
  • Monitor expenditures and make recommendations for budget allocations to ensure effective resource management.
  • Evaluate meal quality and quantity to ensure that our standards are met.
  • Coordinate meal preparation, pricing, and other related duties for community-based services such as Meals on Wheels.
  • Assist in maintaining facility in-house services by coordinating cafeteria operations, including pricing, staffing, and closure procedures.
  • Perform audits to ensure compliance with established food service and quality assurance standards.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a recognized two-year program in Food Service and Nutrition Management.
  • One year's recent experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Food Safe Certificate.
